Locations serve as a secondary filtering option on your Current Openings career page.
It is recommended to create locations as CITY, STATE or COUNTY, STATE. As a free service, all current openings on OnShift Employ are automatically aggregated to National Labor Exchange and Indeed.com job boards. Listing a location as “Company Name” or “Billing Office” or "headquarters" not only prevents current openings from indexing properly to these job boards but reduces your company’s current openings from topping search engine results.
Companies with a centrally located headquarters should use the preferred location format.
Avoid duplicate City names. Duplicate City names may congest filters and reporting. Companies/Facilities should use the same location name when possible.
Locations and Integrations
Locations can be an integral component to OnShift Employ's various software integrations. If you are unsure, please contact your supervisor or OnShift representative to assist in adding or editing a location.
Add a new Location:
- Manage Systems tab → Locations
- Click green New Location button
Red sirens indicate required fields needed to create a new location.
LOCATION NAME is the only field publicized and will appear as-is on the candidate (public) side.
PARENT LOCATION: Organize your locations by:
- State
- Division
- Affiliate
- Integrations (payroll, background screening, etc.)
Companies: it is important to select company or facility names that will need the new location. This enables the location in in location field drop down menus through out OnShift.
To select one company or facility - click on the name
To select more than once facility - hold CTR key and click on additional facilities
To select all - hold SHIFT key click on the first name then the last name
Troubleshooting tip - if you are trying to create a new Opening and the location is not included in the location options, check the location and companies selected.

Edit a Location:
- Click on the location name
- Then the orange Edit button
- Make updates
- Submit to save
Depending on number of locations or screen size, you may click on a location then have to scroll up to review location information and edit button)
