Create a Rejection Reason
Set up templates to send when an application is rejected.
Go to the Manage Systems tab → Message Templates → Rejection Reasons.
Click +New
Enter the following information (all optional excluding Title, but recommended unless stated otherwise).
Title – For internal use only. The title appears in the dropdown menu when selecting a rejection and is visible in reports.
No associated email? – Select if an email to the candidate is not necessary. (Not recommended.)
Example when this could be used: If the application was transferred to another requisition.
Subject – Customer-facing subject line for the email. We recommend keeping it simple.
Email Template – Most dispositions have a generic, friendly email associated with why they are no longer being considered.
SMS Mapper and SMS Message – Create a shortened version of the rejection for those registered for texting.
Flag Candidate – Adds a flag next to the candidate's name on their profile. Used in such instances as unfavorable background results or not eligible for rehire.

Pre-adverse Action – Select this to set up a compliant pre-adverse action timed email in conjunction with unfavorable backgrounds.
Please contact your CSA for more information and to complete implementation.
Click Send Email.
A list of available email variables appears at the bottom of the page for quick use.
Communication is key with candidates, even if it is a rejection. Sending a rejection email keeps the person from wondering. It’s essential to be kind, and keep it short and sweet. They may be an excellent fit for future roles!
